Bulk Metallic Glasses (IRG II)

Work in the area of Bulk Metallic Glasses (Interdisciplinary Research Group II) investigates the processing, microstructure, and mechanical behavior of bulk metallic glasses (BMG) and their composites. These researchers will delve into the basic science and engineering that will enable new strategies to produce bulk metallic glasses in which a crystalline phase is introduced to resist shear localization, creating a BMG composite with enhanced material properties.
