The Materials Partnership Program (MPP) with CSULA

MMP | 2005 | 2004 | 2003 | 2002 | 2001

The Center has established the Materials Partnership Program (MPP) with California State University, Los Angeles (CSULA), a primarily undergraduate institution that currently has no materials science program. Working with CSULA faculty who are active in materials research, CSEM enhances the materials curriculum and research opportunities for CSULA students (82% are under-represented minorities).

The Partnership includes the CSEM Undergraduate Research Fellowship Program that supports seven CSULA undergraduates in year-round, collaborative research projects bridging Caltech and CSULA. In addition, the Partnership Program gives CSULA students and faculty access to state-of-the-art experimental facilities and supports a sabbatical program for CSULA faculty.
