We are proud to announce that our next Caltech CSEM Open House, Opportunities for You in Science and Engineering, will be held on Date: TBA from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm.
The Opportunities program will showcase science and engineering research labs in the Center for the Science and Engineering of Materials (CSEM). CSEM is funded by the National Science Foundation.
- Meet faculty and students from the Center for the Science and Engineering of Materials
- Tour Caltech research labs and see how science and engineering is really done
- Engage in hands on activities
- Listen to presentations on innovative research
- Attend presentations on getting into college and applying for financial aid
You may select up to 5 students from your school to attend this event. Please choose high school students who show an interest in or aptitude for science and/or math. We encourage you to consider including females, under-represented minorities, and students with disabilities.
We hope that you will be able to accompany your students, but if you are unable to attend, please recruit another teacher at your school who can accompany your students. If you decide to attend and bring students, we will send or fax you permission-release forms that will need to be completed by each participant. Please collect the completed forms in advance of the event, and fax or send them to Caltech by Date: TBA. Those without completed permission forms will not be able to participate. Space for this program is limited, and participants will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis.
Caltech will provide breakfast, lunch, and snacks for all students, their parents and teachers, who participate in the Open House.

Each person who plans to attend the Open House (students, teachers, parents, staff and volunteers) should fill out an application form. Click on the link below to do so.
Release Forms
