Description and Use Policy: Our x-ray diffractometry facilities are located in Steele and Keck Laboratories and include a Philips multi-purpose powder diffractometer equipped with a high temperature stage (to 1000C), a thin film stage and a capillary stage for air sensitive samples; a Siemens D-500 powder diffractometer; and an Inel CPS-120 powder diffractometer system equipped with a liquid nitrogen specimen cryostat. In addition, the Haile group operates a SYNTEX single crystal diffractometer. Users interested in the Philips diffractometer should contact Dr. Thundathil. Use of other instruments are arranged through the individual faculty members, William Johnson, Brent Fultz and Sossina Haile, respectively.
